Hi, I’m Joanne!

I am a Dental Hygiene Practitioner and provider of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy with over 15 years of experience in the dental field.  I started my journey in dentistry by earning my Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alberta in 2006. In 2007, I made the move to the sunny Okanagan to lay down roots, build my career, and start a family.

Through my years as a Dental Hygienist, I have worked with people of all ages to achieve the goal of improving overall health, by optimizing oral health.  Once I discovered the field of Myofunctional Therapy, I was hooked!  It truly felt like the “missing link” needed to determine the underlying cause of common problems that a vast majority of clients were experiencing.  I became passionate about learning more and quickly became optimistic about helping clients improve oral function by actually getting to the root of the problem, in a non-invasive manner.

In 2021, after completing my training in Myofunctional Therapy, I created OKANAGAN OMT.  I am eager and committed to continual learning in the field of Orofacial Myology and its related disciplines. Through collaboration with clients, their families, and a trusted network of other airway focussed professionals, I look forward to further helping clients achieve improved overall wellness through optimal oral function.
