Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) result from the dysfunction of the muscles of the lips, tongue, and/or jaw.  Mouthbreathing, tongue thrust, tongue/lip tie, low resting tongue posture, and noxious oral habits are all common issues seen when these muscles are not working optimally. Myofunctional therapy works to correct this dysfunction by strengthening and coordinating the muscles to encourage proper function.
